Alexis Kananghinis is an Australian actress, singer, dancer, songwriter and athlete.
Following the success of her one woman cabaret “Lex in the City” at The Butterfly Club in Melbourne, she made the big move to NYC.
Musical Theater credits include being featured ensemble in Wicked at the Melbourne National Theatre, “U/S Cassandra” in CATS and “Sebastian” in Twelfth Night, Shakespeare In The Park.
Her proudest television appearance was getting to share the camera with Lucy Lawless for Channel 10’s program My Life Is Murder (Season 1).
Alexis has training at AMDA NYC working with David Cady, Diane Ciesla, Suzie Jane Hunt, Casey Colgan and more. For 15 years Alexis was a part of the Young Australian Broadway Chorus, highly involved in the bi-annual showcase season and also many auditioned productions and tours, she has an immense amount of gratitude for Jacqui Green, Robert Coates, Lucy O’Brien, Adrian Tamburini and Emily Wilkinson who taught and watched her grow over so many years.
Under the title of LXE, she released to Spotify and Apple Music her very own original music, this has brought a huge wave of pride and excitement - with each song having thousands of streams already and counting, expect to be seeing and hearing much more in the near future.
In her downtime, Alexis is frequently rollerskating, reading, and hiking!
She always knew theatre was her number one passion and what she was destined to do, her very first role of Sheep #1 in her kindergarten production of Old Mac Donald stole the show as the crowd favourite, and that was just the beginning.
